83rd Academy Awards

Just so I'm time stamped and on record here are my Oscar Nomination Predictions:

BEST PICTURE:

Black Swan
The Fighter
Inception
The Kids are All Right
The King's Speech
The Social Network
The Town
Toy Story 3
True Grit
Winter's Bone

Alternate:
127 Hours - I'm going way out on a limb here because everyone expects this to be one of the noms, I just wouldn't vote for it. It'll probably bump Winter's Bone or even The Town, which will piss me off.

DIRECTOR:

Darren Aronofsky - Black Swan
Joel and Ethan Coen - True Grit
Tom Hooper - The King's Speech
David Fincher - The Social Network
Christopher Nolan - Inception

Alternate:
David O. Russell - I wouldn't be surprised one iota if he knock the Coen Bros. out of this and even though I would vote that way I didn't have the balls to predict it.

ACTOR:

Jeff Bridges - True Grit
Robert Duvall - Get Low
Jesse Eisenberg- The Social Network
Colin Firth - The King's Speech
James Franco - 127 Hours

Alternate:
Ryan Gosling - Blue Valentine - He deserves the nod but probably got beaten out by the great Robert Duvall.

ACTRESS:

Annette Benning - The Kids are All Right
Jennifer Lawrence - Winter's Bone
Nicole Kidman - Rabbit Hole
Natalie Portman - Black Swan
Julianne Moore - The Kids are All Right

Alternate:
Michelle Williams - Blue Valentine - Again, she definitely deserves the spot but I feel like it would be tough to pencil in Annette Benning WITHOUT including Julianne Moore. So if Williams does get it, it will be because voters disagree.

SUPPORTING ACTOR:

Christian Bale - The Fighter
Andrew Garfield - The Social Network
Jeremy Renner - The Town
Mark Ruffalo - The Kids are All Right
Geoffrey Rush - The King's Speech

Alternate:
John Hawkes - Winter's Bone - Could uproot Ruffalo but The Kids are All Right seems like this years little Indie that could.

SUPPORTING ACTRESS:

Amy Adams - The Fighter
Helena Bonham-Carter - The King's Speech
Mila Kunis - Black Swan
Melissa Leo - The Fighter
Hailee Steinfeld - True Grit

Alternate:
Jacki Weaver - Animal Kingdom - I doubt she can knock Kunis out of a nomination but she's not far behind.

ADAPTED SCREENPLAY:

127 Hours
The Social Network
Toy Story 3
True Grit
Winter's Bone

Alternate:
The Town - Always an interesting category but I think the top five are solidly getting the noms.

ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY:
Black Swan
The Fighter
Inception
The Kids are All Right
The King's Speech

Alternate:
Get Low - Again, I can't imagine the top five listed not getting the noms but I've seen crazier things happen.
